Kerstin Barnes, aesthetician and friend, went into the makeup chair this week to discuss skin care on women over 40. As we hit the over 40 age bracket, women usually become much more cognisant of lines, wrinkles, and the condition of their skin. In researching products, we are inundated with exhortations of varying cost and effectiveness, and potentially can get siphoned into the whirlwind of so called miracle creams and such. After over 30 years in the beauty industry, I have tried innumerable skin care brands and have come to the conclusion that your best bet is to use an affordable but effective skin care line, excellent anti-aging serum, and to get facials once a month. In approaching my own skin care in this way, I feel I’ve taken off about 8 years from my face!
In this video, Kerstin discusses her clientele and what she advises women to do both internally with diet and stress relief and externally with products and procedures. As a side note, I have not had any botox injections or nip-tuck of any sort. I do not reject these options for women, but rather uphold what works best for each individual person.
